Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk (1443-1524) was an English nobleman, soldier, and politician during the Tudor era. He was a key figure in the politics of his era, serving as Earl Marshal, Lord Treasurer, and Lord High Steward. He also played an active role in several military campaigns, including the wars against Scotland and France.

Howard was born to John Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk, and his wife Katherine de Moleyns. He was educated at the University of Cambridge and later served in the military, fighting in the Wars of the Roses. In 1485, he supported King Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth, but after Richard's defeat, he submitted to the victorious Henry VII and was pardoned.

Howard's loyalty to the Tudor dynasty was rewarded with various offices, lands, and titles. He was twice married, first to Elizabeth Tilney and later to Agnes Tilney. His third son, Thomas Howard, would later become the Duke of Norfolk himself and play a key role in the reigns of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

Despite his political success, Howard was also involved in several controversies during his career. He was accused of treason during the reign of Henry VII, but was pardoned. Later, during the reign of Henry VIII, he was accused once again of treason and was imprisoned for several years, narrowly avoiding execution.

Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk died in 1524 at the age of 81. He is buried at the church of St. Michael the Archangel in Framlingham, Suffolk.
